Totally awesome. Watch the GT-R take the 997 to task around Tsukuba. All said and done, Nissan’s built great competition for the Euro’s with the new R35. Still, insane JDM car fan as I am, I would still take that sexy 997 for a drive. And maybe never come back

Just damn sexy, the Nissan GT-R

Finally, after the heartache, tears, and edge of the seat anticipation, the Nissan GT-R pictures have hit the blogosphere like nothing else. Feast your eyes on Nissan’s latest foray into the Supercar market. Sporting the all new 3.8L twin turbo VR38VETT powerhouse, the new GT-R will whisk you from 0-100 in 3.5s or less, and do the quarter in a very healthy 11.7seconds. The Corvette and 911 now have some serious competition from Japan; and who knows what the Japanese tuning houses, or just enthusiasts, will extract from the new GT-R?

But enough. There’s one reason you’re here. Enjoy and know happiness as only the GT-R can deliver.

In a somewhat controversial post, the Nissan GT-R and 911 have been seen doing battle on the Ring.

Sure to bring Porsche evangelists into direct fire from Nissan evangelists, Autoblog is carefully claiming the GT-R (not the EVO spec apparently) doing the lap in 7:38 vs 7:40 for the 911 (pictures included). Noting the usual indescrepancies from stopwatch timing, they claim it still leaves the GT-R in a favourable position of coming dead even at worst, sure to heighten debate between lovers of the mighty German.

The GT-R is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated and hotly debated releases of the 21st century. Only time will tell who will rain supreme, but until then, a bit of excitement hasn’t gone astray.
